Tools
Free, open web tools I have built for public information, research and teaching. They run in the browser with no accounts, and the code is on GitHub.
For the public and for research
A live flood dashboard anyone can read, and the analysis code behind my wastewater work.
BahaWatch flood dashboardBahaWatch is a community flood-sensing project led by Noam Anglo; I build its web dashboard. A proof-of-concept showing how a network of low-cost household water-level sensors could produce live flood maps for Philippine neighborhoods. No accounts, free hosting, plain language in six languages. (opens in a new tab)
WWTP statistical framework and visualization toolPython tool for wastewater plant data: bootstrapped correlation analysis across Pearson, Spearman, and Kendall methods, false-discovery-rate correction, heatmaps, and network diagrams of parameter relationships. (opens in a new tab)
For teaching
Built while teaching environmental engineering and fluids labs at Boise State. For learning, not certified for engineering design.
Settling column isoremoval curve generatorAn open learning tool that turns raw settling column data into isoremoval curves. Adopted in an environmental engineering course at Boise State. (opens in a new tab)
Sedimentation basin generatorA sedimentation basin sizing tool for educational use (not certified for engineering design). (opens in a new tab)
Virtual fluids laboratories for CE 323
Four browser-based simulations of the Boise State CE 323 fluids experiments, built while I taught the lab. Each one walks through setup and calibration, lets you run the experiment and record readings, and then checks your own calculations against the simulated apparatus. They run entirely in the browser with no accounts or installs.
Stormer viscometerMeasure dynamic viscosity of two oils with a falling-weight drive and decide whether each behaves as a Newtonian fluid. (opens in a new tab)
Hydrostatic force on a plane surfaceBalance a quarter-circle block on a beam by filling the tank, then relate the resultant force to water depth. (opens in a new tab)
Bernoulli's law in a tapered ductRun steady flow through a venturi and compare velocities from manometer heads with velocities from continuity. (opens in a new tab)
Energy losses in pipe fittingsFind minor-loss coefficients for bends, a contraction, an enlargement, and a gate valve across a range of flows. (opens in a new tab)
